If there’s anything I love more than giving a gift, it’s that look on my friend’s face when they open it.
So, I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty good at this. Like, the Beyoncé of gift-giving.
Still, I know the prospect of finding something special for someone you care about can be daunting for those less fortunate. I mean, I love light-up unicorn slippers, but will my boss? (If you have an excellent boss, they should.)
And if your recipient is someone that works in hotel management, I’m sure it’s even more stressful. Because how can you find something stellar, out-of-this-world spectacular for a person who so often gives their hospitality to entire strangers?
Like I said, I’m good at this.
Below, I’ve put together the perfect list of gifts for hoteliers so you can get your friend or loved ones to make that face. (And hey, if you like one of the gifts, don’t forget to treat yo self.)
Let’s get started.
For fans of Ryan Murphy’s FX series, you too can now be like Lady Gaga in her award-winning role as the Countess on American Horror Story: Hotel. But even if you aren’t a fan, this spoon bracelet is a great tribute to art deco hotel glamor, perfect for any manager at a luxury hotel.
“Be Our Guest” Wall Art Sign $59.00+
Channel your inner Lumière and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for your loved one’s hotel or office with their very own wooden “Be Our Guest” sign. Letters can be freely arranged to accommodate your wall space and come in variety of colors or unpainted if your friend is more of the DIY type. Stockholm syndrome and Angela Lansbury solo number not included.
Hoteliers often have their hands full with guest demands, so why not free up some hand space with a Bluetooth headset so they can tackle multiple problems at once? This sleek design not only looks stylish, but has also been named the best Bluetooth headset.
This custom-made necklace is a great way to give some love back to someone whose living is to give their love to others. “Great hotels guests love” is stamped into a one-inch aluminum disc with a brushed finish. The necklace comes with a silver tone heart charm that is lead and nickel free, and hangs on either a silver-plated ball chain or leather cord.
Do Not Disturb Sign $16.50
If the hotelier in your life is busy doing important work, give them the beautiful gift of silence with this wonderful front door “Do Not Disturb” sign. Great for both offices and bedrooms, hospitality can be a hard business and your special someone deserves an uninterrupted space.
For those busy running off attending to their guests’ needs, give back to them with the gift of more confortable shoes. Whether they’re for a pair of heels or flats, your friend will thank you when they can still walk at the end of the day.
Eloise Framed Print $17.95
Perfect for hoteliers fond of the Eloise series, this fantastic print of Kay Thompson’s 1955 book is a great tribute to the childhood books that follow a young New York girl who lives in the famous Plaza Hotel.
These all natural, unscented shoe deodorizers not only clean the stink, but also dehumidify your shoes. Ever Bamboo’s Shoe Deodorizers last up to one year, and when through, you can cut open the pouches and mix the charcoal granules into your soil outside! Very cool and very green.
If your special someone loves hotels, minimalist art, and Wes Anderson films, this gift is the perfect handmade item to give them a smile. (And if your friend is a big fan of Wes Anderson, the artist also has other minimalist prints available of the director’s other films.)
A great gift for those whose love of board games is only matched by their love for hotels, this is a cute and simple statement with a touch of quirk. All items created by this artist are also made from recycled or reused products. Better pass go and collect this awesome gift for the game lover in your life!
Overlook Hotel Cufflinks $22.00
For those looking to accessorize, these cufflinks inspired by The Shining’s unforgettable carpet design offer a subtle nod for film fans. Not nearly as creepy as the ghosts of the Grady girls, but at least you don’t have to wear them forever…and ever…and ever. Or you can. They’re pretty cool.
If your recipient works in the hospitality industry, you know they might enjoy a sip or two to cool off after a long day. So why not do it in hotelier style? This 6oz stainless steel laser-welded flask also comes with two stainless steel shot cups and a steel funnel. Flasks can be personalized for no additional cost. Alcohol, unfortunately, not included.
This handmade necklace is as adorable as it is charming, complete with bellhop and yellow-roofed hotel. A great gift for hoteliers with a quirky taste in statement necklaces.
Don’t forget that hospitality professionals need their dose of rest and relaxation, too. This bathrobe is made from 100% organic combed cotton, making it soft and water-absorbent after a long soak. The robe is also made in an eco-friendly facility, so it’s ideal for those with sensitive skin. Sizes come in small, medium, and large.
Can’t escape The Shining. This second one was too good to pass up. This white ceramic bathroom set is simple and elegant, if not creepy in its implications. Did you notice the rounded price is 237?
Twin Peaks fans rejoice! Now you can show your love for Agent Dale Cooper and the mysterious town with a salute to Benjamin Horne’s hotel. While this keychain doesn’t offer spectacular views of Whitetail Falls, this gift is hand carved, and sure to please any diehard fan.
World Map Bowtie $32.56
For those less-inclined to hotel horror films, this handmade bowtie offers some nice pizzaz to your professional outfit. Customers can also request a particular map location to be shown on the bow for a nod to your hotel’s location.
