Sometimes your software just doesn’t work out.
Whether you need more customization, a better user experience, or have simply outgrown your old software, it can be hard finding another solution that meets (and exceeds) your needs.
For vacation rental software users, you need to be able to manage your reservations, work orders, and paperwork, all of which are essential to the daily running and operations of your properties.
If your solution isn’t working, you could lose major business (not to mention some major revenue).
So where do you turn?
To alternatives, of course.
Popular solutions are always a great launching point and can help you understand a software category as well as what you may want in a solution.
And instead of searching around for some viable alternatives, I’ve found the five most popular Lodgix alternatives, listing their pros, cons, and cost (if available) so you can find a vacation rental solution right for you.
This cloud-based rental management software is a great choice for those looking to manage short-term stays, whether you’re an individual owner, small portfolio manager, or an agent needing a solution to maintain multiple properties.
General features range from reservation and payment management to email integration and a guest communications platform that gives users access to a variety of pre-made templates and even the ability to create your own to save time and improve customer service. Agent-grade features expand to include a housekeeping and maintenance component with restricted third-party access to keep sensitive information private, customizable rental agreements, and the ability to create and personalize a micro-site for each of your properties. 365 Villas also boasts a new user interface for better organization and clarity.
Aside from features, the overwhelming majority of Capterra reviews give this solution glowing praise for its customer service.
Capterra reviews note the ease the comes with 365 Villas’ automation, but do say that good automation also includes what could be tedious data input. Still, they report the payoff is worth the effort. Reviewers also mention an initial learning curve.
365 Villas breaks down into three distinct software package options (basic, owner’s choice, and agent’s choice) that ascend in both cost and available features. Basic ($29) and owner’s choice ($39) is intended for owners with one property, with owner’s choice offering additional features. Agent’s choice ($69) is suited for portfolio managers with one to five properties. Those with more than five properties are directed to a separate page for more individualized pricing.

Escapia by HomeAway
For a user-friendly software experience, Escapia is another popular Lodgix alternative.
In addition to a reservation system, HomeAway’s Escapia hosts a customizable business dashboard where users can create flexible rate options for maximum revenue and keeps tabs on trends for better expense management. Users are also promised integrated accounting, housekeeping and maintenance management, as well as marketing and reporting features to craft mailing lists and coupons or promo codes for marketing campaigns. For those looking to cut credit card processing time, this solution additionally features automated payments to not only help staff, but also enable guests to update payment information themselves.
Escapia is accessible across PC, Mac, and tablet.
According to Capterra reviews, some negatives include the inability to create multiple or recurring work orders with additional complications rising from invoicing that sometimes bills businesses for certain customers. Data entry can also be time-consuming, though this is often necessary for solutions that can automate specific processes or tasks.
Pricing isn’t listed on their site, but you can contact HomeAway’s support team for more information.
