Usually, a number of industries can benefit from any particular type of software, but few software categories reach quite as many industries as maintenance management.

With budget cuts and a tight economy looming, no business can afford to lose a functioning building and their working equipment. Whether you are a school or a hospital, a manufacturer or a mall, in order for your business to run smoothly, your building needs to function properly.

Computerized Maintenance Management Systems help organizations ensure consistent performance and increased efficiency. By automating and monitoring maintenance schedules, CMMS applications reduce costs and optimize the process of repair and replacement of key equipment.

As mobile technologies such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops continue to improve and grow in popularity, proper facility maintenance just keeps getting easier. Nowadays, anyone with a mobile device can update a work order or make an adjustment to the maintenance schedule from any location, leading to increased communication and a more efficient staff.

The Top 20

When you’re searching for the right maintenance management system, it’s helpful to know some of the leaders in the space. While the market-leading CMMS solutions might not be the best fit for your organization, knowing their names and evaluating a few of the more popular software providers in the space may be a good place to start your navigation of the hundreds of options available.

That’s why I’m happy to announce our latest infographic, The Top 20 Most Popular Maintenance Management Software Infographic.

The Research

In order to determine these twenty maintenance management leaders, we used our popularity index to help narrow down the list:

  1. Number of current customers [40%]
  2. Number of active users [40%]
  3. Social media presence (Facebook likes, Twitter followers, LinkedIn followers, and number of Capterra reviews) [20%]

In this infographic, we defined “customers” as companies with an active license to your software. “Users” refers to the number of end users at those companies with access. Each of these metrics refer only to customers and users active in the past year.
